Shocks and particle acceleration in the Milky Way under the gamma-ray eye

Abstract:

The Fermi satellite and the HESS telescopes are dedicated to the observation of the most energetic radiation that bombards the Earth: gamma rays. They have been observing the sky for twenty years now and have provided a wealth of unexpected results. I will present the surprises encountered in our own Galaxy, all associated with shocks in the environment of pulsars, black holes and supernova remnants. We will approach them by emphasizing the complementarity between the different experiments currently carried out to search for the cosmic-ray accelerators in the Milky Way.
